Addiction

Ignored and unloved.
Upon the deepest love,
Feeling lonesome in this place called a nest.
To be one,
We must be connected.
Words become scarce,
Neglected.

Indulging on decadence in silence,
Passing time alone,
But yet there he is.
Staring upon his cold shoulder,
Memories of his silhouette,
Is what I remember.

Dozing off into the late night hours,
Only to find him up and about.
Waking up to laughter and shouting,
The stumbling sounds of disruption,
Disrespectful and insensibility.
Awaken by noise,
Anger lives within me now.

Is this a dream I live upon?
Is this reality or is this a game?

Autumn Growing Up

Growing up I always admired the colorful trees along the cityscape of the highway. The damp crisp air of the wee hours in the morning. The crunchy frosted lawn. Jack Frost visits us every night. The smell of the morning fresh air is refreshing.

Christmas carols are playing at every shopping centre. Everything smells like cinnamon pine cones. There's nothing but hot apple cider on my mind.

After a long walk in the park, I liked curling up next to the crackling fire. As I sipped hot cocoa and awaited a delicious home cooked meal. I doze off to the warmth of the fireplace and the familiar sounds of my mother cooking.

Love

Loving someone is loving them as a whole. There are things you love about them. And things that you are not fond of. We try to embrace every aspect of them. You learn to love them.

But what if your loved one is doing something to harm themselves? What would you do at that point? Do you intervene? What is your intervention?

Communicate and put a voice to your thoughts. If they don't want to listen or ignore your love and your opinion. Or they may thank you and make a change in their lifestyle. Sometimes they may keep their promise and change their habits. But is this just a temporary or permanent change?

You may often hear people say that their spouses bring out the better in them. But what if something worse is brought out? What do you do then?

People that Make you or Break you

Have you ever thought about how your significant other, friends, family and people around you affect you as a person?

I mean not everyone is perfect for each other and not everyone gets along either. Have you ever had someone in your life that makes you laugh when you're sad and gives you a hug when you need some encouragement? Someone who lends you a shoulder to cry on or someone that helps you get back up on your feet when you have hit rock bottom. Keep them close by as they are hard to come by. These are your true friends.

You may think that to be a silly thought but there are many wolves dressed in sheep's clothing nowadays. For instance you had someone be nice to you and invite you to a party only so that you can get them a great deal at the venue. Then treat you inhumanly, be rude and tell you to go home if you don't like it. That's a 'woof' alright.

A true friend doesn't talk behind your back. Someone that loves you doesn't tell you who to be friends with. A grateful person will know how to say 'please & thank you.' A true friend doesn't treat your relationship as a game and they surely don't keep score. A truly genuine friend will learn to say 'Sorry,' when they know that they have wronged you.

There are second chances in life & relationships. But when you pour your heart out and all you get in return is greed and selfishness. How many times will you fall into this trap from the wolves? Fool me 3 times, Strike and you're out of my life.

What Makes A Man Sexy?

In my opinion a man is sexy when he is knowledgeable and mature. Men that enjoy household chores and ones that can cook a fabulous meal are just as charming.

What are other traits that are appealing to women? A man that smells nice, well groomed, well dressed and has a fit physique. Being polite, chivalrous and romantic can be a perk.

A big "no, no" to men out there chivalry is not dead and it still makes a girl happy to see you open a door for her and not slam it in her face.

While most men think females are genetically programmed to be loving and caring. Do you expect them to be the perfect housewife like Samantha from Bewitched? That phase is now history.

Women have evolved to a more independent breed. I believe in hard work and I like to live a glamorous life. You work hard you play even harder. I don't want to spend my waking hours cooking and cleaning like a maid.

A man that helps around the house on a weekly basis on their own will is one of the top traits a woman finds sexy.

Most male friends I've spoken to about this topic have chuckled and said "are you kidding me?" No, I'm not. It's true.

Silence of Pain

You cannot see me,
But I linger within,
I torment you,
I nourish you.

I am your worst nightmare,
I keep you awake at night,
I make your body burn,
I'm your eternal flame.

I make you irritable,
I make you cry,
I make you angry
as you embrace the pain.

You acknowledge me,
I will never leave,
You try to fight back,
But I succeed.

Chapter One: Venom & Matilda

Long long ago in an enchanted forest lived a wicked witch named Venom. Far far away from the forest lived a princess named Matilda. Venom heard the beautiful melodies of this beautiful princess from all the mocking birds that venture through her forest. Matilda was a sweet and loving young lady, with her beautiful auburn curls and her luscious eyelashes. All the kings men answered every one of her desires for her beauty and for respect.

Venom once lived in the castle where Matilda grew up. She was an illegitimate child of the King conceived with a maid. The Queen had given birth to Matilda two years later. The King ordered his guards to banish Venom and her mother to beyond the outskirts of the castle. They were sent to the enchanted forest and were never to return to the kingdom.

Venom's mother soon passed after they were banished from the kingdom. She was then taken in by a witch that lived on the far end of the forest, far far away from civilization. There she was raised with hatred and educated by dark magic, she swore she would seek revenge of the kingdom one day.

Sixteen years had past and Venom had grown up to be a fine young lady with mysterious dark magical powers. She could manipulate the elements like no other, she could make the forest burn with rage and she could flood a kingdom with her tears. Matilda has now grown up to be a talented young lady with beauty and knowledge of that of Einstein.

One sunny afternoon, Venom heard the mocking birds gossiping in the forest about the King is hiring servants. She decided at once that she had waited long enough and will seek employment at the castle only to seek revenge. She had been planning her revenge for the last sixteen years, mastering the craft of spells and potions. She then prepared a potion that would make herself irresistible to all men that lay eyes on her and forged new papers for a new identity; she is now known as Angelica Raven. She then changed into peasant clothing and headed north to the kingdom she was once banished from.

At the audition at the castle, the headmaster noticed Venom and signaled for her to come forward to a room to speak to her in private. Apparently the headmaster was missing one girl for the entertainment he had planned for the King and the Princess tonight, he then asked Venom if she can sing and dance. Under her breathe she murmured a spell and instantly she had a voice that could turn sugar into syrup and dance skills that would make the black swan weep. The headmaster's eyes widened with astonishment and declared that she was hired for the evening. She shall be paid 20 gold coins at the end of the night, she will be fed a meal and will have a place to stay. But when morning comes she will have to audition for a permanent job again. Venom agreed on the assignment and was overjoyed that she will be in close proximity with the King tonight. Hoping that the King would notice her and perhaps keep her as one of his mistresses. She then thought of poisoning the King or perhaps put him under a spell and she could control the kingdom through him.

To be continued...

Silence

I live in a world of silence
with heavy traffic
solid rain
and splashing footsteps

I am awakened
by the starting of a car engine
the homeless rummaging through the trash
or the screaming of the intoxicated

I live in a world of silence
with peace
zen
and harmony

Inside I like silence
I close my eyes
breath in deep
hold your breathe
exhale

In relaxation the world will glow
and your mind will grow
Silence is your peace of mind
it is not your surroundings

Anger

I don't know why,
but you make me boil
I cannot stand your presence,
when everything has a pretence

I wish you well,
when you wish me harm
I cannot stand your idiocy
but I guess that's your charm

What is one to love,
is it the vague personality
is it the image one sees
or is it timidity

You speak in vain,
I choose to ignore

Your actions of kindness,
mask your intentions

Under that mask of yours,
I'm sure you're keeping scores

Friendship

To love and to know
You may speak without despair
To hold and to weep upon
You are my rock

You may be blunt
And I shall forgive
For a lifetime of love
We give each other comfort

We may not speak
We may not meet
For a while
Sometimes longer

But we still remember
You're always on my mind
From time to time
We speak a life's worth of dialogue

We finish one another's sentences
Love can bring happiness
Friendship can create companionship
Sharing is caring

Never to part ways
When you seen me in a daze
You guide me through a path
I trust you
Without questioning your judgment

You make me smile
laugh
smile
cry
and mad
But in the end
I love you my dear friend

Betrayal

Wonderful at first
Best friends at last
Win me over
Throw me over the rail

Seek approval
Playing your tricks
Everything is a game
That is your fame

So vulnerable as you may seem
You don't realize you're mean
Like an evil queen staring into her mirror
Watching you deteriorate

Bit by bit
Glimpse by glimpse
Disappear into the mist
